Residential Complex "D1"
1/ 21
D1 is a premium residential complex near Dmitrovskaya metro station in Moscow, designed by KAMEN Architects. The composition is structured as a "vertical city": three high-rise towers united by a common podium, each with its own architectural character and individual facade solution.
The architecture of the complex is built on the contrast between slender vertical volumes and an extended horizontal podium. Panoramic glazing, relief metal surfaces and different rhythms of the facades make each tower independent while maintaining the integrity of the overall silhouette.
Glass and pre-painted aluminium became the primary finishing materials. The tallest tower features a silvery metal envelope with thin vertical ribs. The second tower is finished in deep titanium tone with three-component coating, allowing the color to shift depending on lighting and viewing angle. The third, 30-storey tower, has the most sculptural facade — wide golden-bronze aluminium elements form a three-dimensional interlacing pattern around the panoramic windows.
The variation in color, line direction and depth of metal elements allows each tower to interact with light in its own way. Silvery surfaces emphasize verticality, dark metal creates a more graphic and profound image, and the golden-bronze envelope adds warmth and expressive plasticity to the architecture.
As a result, D1 is perceived as a unified high-rise composition built on contrasts. Glass and aluminium here become not merely finishing materials, but instruments that shape the individuality of each tower and the overall dynamic character of the complex.
