Russian Drama Theatre «Masterovye» — a contemporary theatre complex in Naberezhnye Chelny, whose new building opened in 2022. The architecture of the project is built on the combination of large public scale, strict geometry and expressive metal surfaces, forming a unified image of the cultural facility.

One of the key facade materials is aluminium. Metal cladding helps gather the large planes of the building into a unified composition, emphasizes the facade rhythm and adds visual depth to the volume.

Metal works particularly expressively in natural and evening lighting. Throughout the day the surface changes in saturation and character, and in the evening architectural lighting enhances the facade geometry and makes individual metal elements more relief-like.

The combination of aluminium, glazing and solid facade planes allows the theatre to retain its monumentality without making its architecture heavy. Metal becomes the binding material between the large scale of the building and the more detailed plasticity of entrance and public zones.

As a result, «Masterovye» is perceived as a contemporary urban theatre with a laconic yet expressive architectural character, where metal plays an important role in forming the rhythm, light and coherence of the facade.
