Almet Public Centre is a cultural and educational complex in Almetyevsk, created through the renovation of a former department store building from the 1970s. After adding three additional storeys, the volume almost doubled and acquired a laconic cubic form.

The main architectural element of the building is a double-layer facade made of perforated aluminium. The outer metal shell wraps around the main volume and forms a complex openwork pattern inspired by the geological structure of the region and the sequence of oil-bearing strata in Almetyevsk.

Pre-painted aluminium was used for the outer layer. The perforated panels function as independent architectural graphics: by day they create a subtle light-and-shadow pattern on the facade and dappled shadows in the interiors, which change with the sun's position.

Behind the openwork shell is a darker matte facade, which makes the perforation pattern appear particularly three-dimensional. The contrast between the silvery color and the deep gray background emphasizes the multi-layered nature of the building and creates a more dynamic image.

The metal screen also serves a functional purpose: it partially shields the inner facade from direct sunlight, reducing interior heat gain. Thus, the aluminium here simultaneously functions as a decorative, climatic, and architectural tool.

As a result, "Almet" is perceived as a unified metal volume, where perforation, light, and color become part of the building's overall concept. The facade does not simply conceal the structure, but tells the story of the place through material and transforms the geological character of the region into a contemporary architectural pattern.
