Multi-functional complex in EXPO-Astana area is one of the buildings developed around the EXPO 2017 exhibition complex in Astana. The project's architecture continues the overall language of the site — technology-driven, laconic, and focused on combining contemporary materials with expressive geometry.
Aluminium plays an important role in the building's appearance. Metal surfaces are used as one of the main tools of the facade composition: they emphasize large volumes, establish a clear rhythm, and help unite the various parts of the complex into a cohesive architectural system.
The metal is especially expressive when combined with glazing. Dark silvery surfaces create a more austere, graphic background, while elements with a wood effect soften the overall palette and add visual warmth to the architecture. Through this contrast, the facade is built on the interplay of technology and more tactile materiality.
Under different lighting conditions, aluminium shifts in depth and saturation: smooth metal surfaces reflect the sky and surrounding buildings, while warmer elements make the large volume visually calmer and more complex.
As a result, the complex's architecture is perceived as a continuation of the overall character of EXPO-Astana, where metal, glass, and precise geometry create a contemporary and unified urban environment.
