Simferopol International Airport named after I. K. Aivazovsky is one of Crimea's most recognizable transport facilities, with architecture built around the image of a sea wave. The smooth silhouette of the terminal, variable building height, and curved facades form a dynamic composition connected to the peninsula's nature and the Black Sea.

Aluminium plays a key role in realizing this plasticity. The facade cladding uses aluminium panels of complex geometry that follow the building's curves and help assemble curved surfaces into a cohesive architectural shell.

The project uses pre-painted aluminium S.Con with PVDF coating, as well as facade panels S.Panels and the industrial standing seam system S.Falz INDUSTRIAL. The light metal surface supports the sea wave image and responds to natural light in different ways — from a soft matte silvery effect to brighter glints in sunlight.

Metal is especially expressive when combined with panoramic glazing. Transparent and reflective surfaces enhance the sense of movement, while aluminium elements emphasize the complex facade geometry and the rhythm of curved columns.

As a result, the terminal's architecture is perceived as a single flowing form where glass and metal work together. Aluminium becomes not merely a cladding material, but one of the principal tools for conveying the theme of water, light, and movement at the scale of a major transport facility.
