Church of the Holy Great Martyr Marina

Church of the Holy Great Martyr Marina is an Orthodox church in Bitza village, Moscow region, built in 2014–2015 and consecrated in 2017. The building's architecture draws on traditions of Old Russian architecture: a compact single-dome volume, bright walls and an expressive roof create a calm and unified silhouette.
A special role in the architectural image is played by pre-painted aluminium S.Con, used for the roofing and dome section. The metal allows precise work with the complex geometry of the small temple volume while maintaining clean lines and lightweight coverage.
For the roof, a deep terracotta-red shade was selected. In Orthodox tradition, red colour is associated with the memory of martyrs, so here the colour solution acquires not only decorative but also symbolic significance. Against the backdrop of bright walls, the saturated metal roof particularly clearly emphasizes the building's form and makes its silhouette more expressive.
The aluminium surface actively interacts with light: in bright sunlight, the colour becomes more saturated and warm, while in diffuse lighting it takes on a more restful character.
